I remember the awe of seeing my first tabbed SP4.
I remember going home the first time and finding out the world was the same, but I would never be again.
I remember how we thought we would live forever.
I remember almost dying -
I remember the NCO's who made me what I am.
I remember a guy freezing his dick to his zipper and still driving on with a road march.
I remember the same guy getting his head shot off on a live fire.
I remember the Ranger I didn't even know bouncing on a jump at Ft. Lewis.
I remember STABO with a broken leg.
I remember girls in Panama.
I remember being armed to the teeth.
I remember shotgunning both doors.
I remember thinking I would die from the cold.
I remember thinking I would die from the heat.
I remember how the air smells different above 10,000.
I remember how the mud and dirt looks the same all over the world.
I remember grabbing a 6ft rattlesnake by the tail and pulling him out of his hole because I was really hungry.
I remember blowing the ice out of my aperture to shoot.
I remember all the Rangers crippled in training.
I remember how drunk 19 year olds can get.
I remember the feeling of watching a 100 Rangers appear out of the dark and fog and cross a field.
I remember all the quitters who were weak of heart and mind.
I remember praying for war.
I remember my best friends.
I remember pain.
